After more than 20 years of successful leadership, Martin Parey is handing over the reins of ABS Werbestudio to Kay Giertz and the newly founded Baltic Print & Service GmbH. This transition marks not only the end of an era but also the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
The Path to Self-Employment: Kay Giertz's Journey
Kay Giertz, an experienced wholesale and foreign trade merchant, has worked for over two decades in the Metro Group, including more than ten years as the managing director of Metro Greifswald. "My dream of self-employment grew more and more over the past five years," says Giertz. With the support of the Nachfolgezentrale MV, he finally found the right company to realize his dream.
A Smooth Transition
Martin Parey, the creative mind behind ABS Werbestudio, wanted to focus more on creative tasks again. Through the Nachfolgezentrale MV, he found the ideal successor in Kay Giertz. "I was very interested after the first presentation of the business," reports Giertz. Despite challenges such as rising interest rates for financing, the transition went smoothly. In parallel with the takeover, Giertz founded Baltic Print & Service GmbH.
A Broad Portfolio: From Sail Printing to Textile Printing
Baltic Print & Service offers a variety of services, including large-format printing, advertising printing, foil applications for sails, vehicles, and textiles, as well as flag printing. Since 2009, the brand "Wandtattoo Loft" has been a staple of the portfolio, producing individual and standardized wall tattoos, printed items, and stickers.
With over 8,000 own motifs and designs that can be customized using software, the company quickly responds to current trends and ensures high-quality standards. Continuous investments in hardware and software pay off in high customer satisfaction and repeat purchase rates.
Successful Collaboration in the Succession Process
The handover of ABS Werbestudio to Kay Giertz is a prime example of successful collaboration between business, consulting, regional banks, and the Bürgschaftsbank Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well as the Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (MBG MV). "We are pleased that Mr. Giertz was able to realize his dream of self-employment and wish him and his team much success," said Jens Körtge from MBG MV and Frank Bartelsen from Nachfolgezentrale MV.
A Look into the Future for Baltic Print & Service GmbH
As managing director of Baltic Print & Service GmbH, Kay Giertz is responsible for all commercial areas as well as personnel and strategy. The 10 jobs were secured, and Martin Parey will focus more on creative tasks again. In the future, Giertz plans to further develop the social media presence to attract new customers. The successful company move to Papendorf marks an important step in the company's development.
