The “Craftsmanship Award of the BMV” Announced

The Bürgschaftsbank Mecklenburg-Vorpommern GmbH (BMV) is once again awarding the “Craftsmanship Award of the BMV.”

This year, for the fifth time, the Craftsmanship Award will be presented to outstanding craft businesses from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that have received a guarantee from the BMV within the last three years.

What is the competition about?

The "Craftsmanship Award of the BMV" recognizes businesses that excel in the areas of digitalization, regionality, and innovation. These award is endowed with a prize of 500 euros. The winning company also qualifies for the national final of the Craftsmanship Award of the Guarantee Banks, where a prize of 5,000 euros awaits.

Who can participate?

Eligible to participate are craft businesses that are registered in the Handwerksrolle (crafts register) or the directory of crafts-like trades and have received a BMV guarantee within the last three years. An independent jury, consisting of representatives from the BMV and the Chambers of Crafts in Schwerin and East Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, will carefully review the submitted applications and honor the best companies.

"With the Craftsmanship Award of the BMV, we want to highlight and reward the commitment and innovative strength of craft businesses in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern," says Dr. Thomas Drews, Managing Director of the BMV. "Last year, Dröge GmbH from Mistorf not only won the state title but also impressed in the national competition."

The Association of German Guarantee Banks (VDB) organizes the nationwide Craftsmanship Award, in which all guarantee banks in Germany participate. The award ceremony for the 13th national competition will take place next year as part of the International Crafts Fair (IHM) in Munich.

Applications can be submitted by email to presse@bbm-v.de until September 16, 2024.

There is no pre-designed form for participation. Each entrepreneur can submit the documents informally by email - e.g., as Word files or PowerPoint presentations - covering key aspects (innovation, digitalization, regionality, etc.).
