What is the program about?
Starting this week, you can receive grants through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to achieve a sustainable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30 percent compared to previous emission levels. This includes measures to increase energy efficiency, as well as the development or establishment of smart energy systems and energy storage, provided they are not or only partially funded by the European Union or the German government.
Eligible for funding are especially the following five types of projects:
- Feasibility studies, pre-planning studies, and preparations that are made digitally available to the public through a platform for general use.
- Planning of investment projects as well as intelligent coupling.
- Investment projects for energy savings and improvement of energy efficiency that go beyond the legal standard at the time of application.
- Investment projects for the development or establishment of smart local energy systems (including smart grids and information and communication systems) and local networks for the use of renewable energies.
- Demonstration projects for new solutions to save energy or reduce greenhouse gas emissions, intended to inspire imitation nationwide through public relations.
For specific measures that are supported, refer to the Climate Protection Funding Guidelines (KliSFöRLUnt M.V).
